Dr. Judd T. Davis is a doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) in Colorado Springs. Dr. Davis owns and operates A New Step Foot & Ankle Clinics helping patients with compassionate foot and ankle care. But what is a podiatrist?

A podiatrist is a specialized doctor trained in the treatment of toe, foot, ankle, and lower leg disorders.

DPM’s receive medical education and training fairly similar to medical doctors or doctors of osteopathic medicine, including four years of undergraduate education, followed by four years of graduate education at podiatric medical college, and then three years of hospital-based post-graduate residency training.  Education is focused on foot and ankle pathology early on within the podiatry curriculum.

A New Step Foot & Ankle Clinics in Colorado Springs brings a unique approach to podiatry and our patient’s care.  We believe in conservative care if possible, and surgery only if a more conservative approach does not provide adequate relief.

Healthy feet are fundamental to the quality of our lives. They are wondrously engineered and often the indicators of our overall health, so we need to look after them. That’s why seeing a podiatrist can be extremely important when you’re having serious foot problems. If you’re a diabetic for instance…do not delay because small problems with your feet can lead to serious consequences.

Feet are also very complex.  Did you know there are 28 bones in each foot!  There are also numerous tendons, muscles, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels contributing to proper foot and ankle function.  Dr. Davis will provide a thorough history, diagnostic exam, and develop a comprehensive treatment plan for you, by spending enough time with you.  If you are suffering from pain or discomfort in your toes, feet, or ankles, or need additional information about foot care, please contact our office today to schedule an appointment.
